What is included?

What does the symbol mean?

It represents a personal commitment to pride in workmanship. It is not proof of a qualification, membership vetting or certification.

Can I wear it on the job?

Remove rings when required by electrical, rotating-equipment or other work safety rules. Use the sticker only where the hard-hat manufacturer and employer permit it, and never obstruct safety information.

The hero
who showed up.

Superman and Spider-Man were the heroes kids talked about at school. I knew what they looked like from lunch pails and T-shirts, but I never really knew who they were or what they did.

Maybe we were too poor for cable. Maybe it was because my mother was afraid of spiders. Either way, they were never mine.

My hero did not wear a cape or shoot webs. He wore blackened eyes from the coal mine.

He had gone grey early in life, but not the soft kind of grey that makes a man look old. His was the working kind. The kind that looks earned.

Coal dust. Stress. Early mornings. Years of making sure everyone else was okay before himself.

He had kind eyes that carried tiredness without losing warmth. Eyes that made people feel safe because they had already seen enough hard days and still came home gentle.
