How Heat Pumps Work

Cool All Summer

During the warmer months, heat pumps work in reverse to keep your home cool and comfortable by pushing the heat and humidity inside your home to the outside. The heat pump unit acts as a fully equipped air conditioner. They’re reliable, efficient and offer the best of both worlds with heating and cooling benefits all in one system.

Warmth All Winter

Air source heat pumps transfer heat energy from the air outside your home to the air inside. They’re very efficient and will work all winter — all the way down to as low as -30 degrees, at which point your alternate heat source will take over. There’s more than enough warmth in the air on a typical Nova Scotia winter day for a heat pump to heat the average home. Air at -18 degrees still contains about 85% of the heat energy it contains at +21 degrees.

Installation, Service & Maintenance

A properly installed heat pump will maximize the efficiency of your system and provide years of heating and cooling comfort. We are manufacturer-approved installers and offer quality heat pumps that are backed by comprehensive warranties. Annual service plans are available for approximately the same cost as furnace service plans.

Owning a heat pump can be convenient and affordable with easy financing on your power bill.
